Viewing life with a curious eye
for finding interest and beauty even in its darkness, her creative side sees
people and things as experiences, experiences that could be frozen in time on pieces of canvas or wood.
She has always drawn and used colors since childhood, and coming from a large [military] family in the Philippines, drawn figures and faces. She is a self-taught artist.Having moved several times as well as visited various places in the
U.S.,Asia and Europe has opened up to painting exposures of diverse backgrounds from Japanese Matsuda-sensei to African American, Jon Onye Lockard, to French
artist, David Gista, to mention a few. There is nothing more fulfilling than creating out of what one sees and she feels very blessed to be a channel for sharing these little creations and making others find joy and pleasure in viewing them.
Another blessing has been her marriage to a wonderful man who shares her love for travel.Looking down from a ski mountain, viewing Venice, Mallorca and Nice from the waters, bumping on an elephant ride in the jungles of Thailand, she always carries her camera.
Acrylic and oil paints, and mixed media are current favorites. Her fondness for angels reflects her personal relationship with God.She often finds inspiration in her visits to and readings on churches, cathedrals and monasteries. Her figurative paintings can
also be whimsical given to a lighter and dreamy world that the viewer can escape
to lighten their load on a challenging day.
“There is always joy in experiencing beauty. What better way is there to share it than to freeze it on a surface to be seen and viewed, again and again.”
